
Figures of Faith
The entire CPC community is invited to join us on Wednesday evenings 7 – 8:15pm at the church as we go through a series of figures of faith throughout time, including John Chrysostom, JRR Tolkien, St. Augustine, William Wilberforce, and others. This series will run from September 13th through November 15th.

Schedule
September 13th* — Introduction to the “Figures of Faith” series and a discussion of the role of figures of faith in our own journeys. Additional details available here.
September 20th — John Chrysostom. Often called the church’s greatest preacher, John’s most passionate sermons were on poverty. Additional details available here.
September 27th — William Wilberforce. Wilberforce had a promising career in politics until a powerful conversion experience caused him to become the leading abolitionist in the UK. Additional details available here.
October 4th — J.R.R. Tolkien. Called the “author of the century,” Tolkien was a faithful Catholic who went on to write such books at The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, featuring Christian elements at their core. Additional details available here.
October 11th — St. Augustine. This bishop and writer looms large in the history of the church and remains pivotal for understanding the Medieval church, the Reformation, and much of the Christian landscape today. Additional details available here.
