Our mission is to glorify God and proclaim the risen Christ through inspirational preaching, music, the sacraments, prayer and liturgy in the Reformed tradition.
Role in the Life of the Church
Our Commission oversees and facilitates the programmatic worship life of the Church. The Commission guides, provides feedback, and helps to resource the Pastors. Continuing evolution of the worship services to meet the changing needs of the congregation depends upon the work of our Commission. Our Commission allows members from the congregation with a heart for worship planning to become directly involved.
Our music ministry enhances the worship experience for both listener and participant. Our many fine choirs offer the opportunity to express God's love through the gift of music.
Objectives
Our Commission's SMART objectives focus upon developing worship services that are relevant and accessible to the current generation, both churched and unchurched.
We are placing emphasis upon keeping the aspects of excellence in worship and music that have characterized Christ Presbyterian Church's traditional services in the past. Our future goals will include education of the congregation and equipping personal worship.
Structure
Our Commission consists of Elders (Scott Braucht, Steve Porter), staff representatives (Dale Chapin, Kathy Otterson), and members-at-large (Phil Plourd, Debbie Konkol). The Contemporary Worship Team and Traditional Worship Team both report to this Commission.
Current Needs
We are particularly interested in anyone with gifts of performance in musical instruments or singing, acting, and organization to participate in aspects of traditional, blended, or contemporary worship.
